How to clear cookies from your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, & Safari) đŸȘ

As savvy internet users, we all know that our browsers are like our ride-or-die companions when it comes to surfing the web and getting stuff done online. But let's be real: with frequent use, they can accumulate a lot of excess baggage in the form of cache files and cookies. These files can slow down your browsing experience and even put your security at risk. To keep things running smoothly and protect your online privacy, it's important to give your browser a little TLC and clear out those pesky files every once in a while. Trust us, your browser will thank you for it!



In this quick step-by-step guide, we'll walk you through clearing cookies and cache for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari browsers.

 

Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome

  2. Click on the vertical three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the browser window

  3. Select Settings from the dropdown menu

  4. Click on Privacy and security in the left sidebar

  5. Click on Clear browsing data

  6. In the popup window, select the time range for which you want to clear the data (e.g., "Last hour," "Last 24 hours," "All time")

  7. Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files

  8. Click on the Clear data button




Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge

  2. Click on the horizontal three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the browser window

  3. Select Settings from the dropdown menu

  4. Scroll down and click on Privacy, Search, and Services in the left sidebar

  5. Under the Clear browsing data now section, select Choose What to Clear

  6. Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files

  7. Select a time range in the dropdown above the checkboxes

  8. Click on the Clear Now button




Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox

  2. Click on the three horizontal line menu icon in the top-right corner of the browser window

  3. Select Settings in the dropdown menu

  4. In the left sidebar, click on Privacy & Security

  5. Under the Cookies and Site Data section, click on Clear Data...

  6. Check the boxes next to Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content

  7. Click on the Clear button



Safari

  1. Open Safari

  2. Click on Safari in the top MacOS menu bar

  3. Select Settings from the dropdown menu

  4. Click on the Privacy tab

  5. Click on the Manage Website Data... button

  6. In the next window, click on Remove All to clear all cookies and cache

  7. Confirm the action by clicking on Remove Now when prompted
